Now Accepting Submissions to the Young Artist Competition

Submissions are now opened for the 2020 Young Artist Competition. Artists can submit up to 15 pieces of artwork for judging. The application will close on April 7, 2020.

All applicants must be University of Kentucky students, with a valid LinkBlue login.

Judging will be handled by 3 to 4 selected art professors from the School of Art and Visual Studies. All selected applicants will be allowed to show 3 to 4 works from their portfolio in a reception that will be held at a later date. 

There will be three winners of this competition. There will be one “Judge’s Choice” winner who will be awarded a $500 scholarship to go towards art supplies from Michael’s Arts and Crafts. There will also be two “Audience’s Choice” winners who will be voted on by the attendees during the reception that will be awarded a $300 scholarship to Michael’s Arts and Crafts. 

The competition is open to any and all art forms and mediums. However, please note that if you are submitting video, performance, or any special installation that it is not guaranteed to be displayed during the reception due to technicalities.
