The Student Activities Board (SAB) is currently accepting applications for the Board of Directors (BOD) for the 2012-2013 school year. If you are a passionate team player, full of fresh ideas and a desire to transform the college experience for the students here at UK, then SAB is the place for you!
The 17 SAB Directors plan and execute more than 50 events on campus each semester including everything from large concerts like My Morning Jacket and Drake, to large campus events like Campus Ruckus, Midnight Finals Crunch Brunch and Homecoming, to smaller events like Farmer's MarCat, Karaoke Nights and the James Baker Hall Writer Series. If you are creative, passionate, hardworking and want to bring exciting events to campus you are highly encouraged to apply. No prior involvement in the organization is necessary!
The Executive Team positions available are President, Vice President of Promotions, and Vice President of Internal Affairs. The Executive Team helps determine the direction of the organization and oversees its daily operations. These intensive positions are some of the highest leadership positions available to students on campus. Applying for the Executive Team does not require a letter of recommendation, but it is encouraged.
The programming director applications that are available are Campus Life, Cinema, Concerts, Cultural Arts, Engaging Issues, Multicultural Affairs, Pop Culture, Traditions, and SAB in the Halls. Programming directors are in charge of planning and executing university events alongside their committee chairs and members.
SAB is also looking for directors in Information Technology, Public Relations, Market Research and Graphic Design, along with an opening for an Assistant Director of Graphic Design. Each of these skills-based directorships have the potential to provide internship credit and will also allow you to build pieces that can add to a professional portfolio.
