Director & Assistant Director of Graphic Design

The Student Activities Board has two graphic design positions, Director of Graphic Design & Assistant Director of Graphic Design. Both positions offer the opportunity to be artistic & creative with the visual marketing of SAB’s events as they work together to produce all of SAB’s graphical media.

  • Director of Graphic Design - The Director of Graphic Design is responsible for designing all of the Student Activities Board’s main promotional mediums. With input from other members of the board, the Director will ultimately determine the visual identity of SAB and its programs.
  • Assistant Director of Graphic Design - The Assistant Director of Graphic Design is responsible for formatting the graphic elements & branding developed by the Director of Graphic Design to SAB’s various other promotional outputs (i.e. Newspaper Ads, Channel 50 Ads, Website Graphics, etc.).

Director of Information Technology

The Director of Information Technology is primarily responsible for using her/his technical knowledge of websites authoring to update, improve, and sustain SAB’s website at www.uksab.org.  The Director of Information Technology compiles graphics from the graphic design team and written content from the Director of Public Relations and the Vice President of Promotions to create fully functioning web pages featuring SAB’s events and news.  It is the Director of Information Technology’s responsibility to make any updated information live, functioning, and navigable in a timely manner.  The Director of Information Technology is probably one of the best jobs for UK students who are interested in pursuing a career in website design.  The site serves a very legitimate marketing purpose, and it receives a large amount of traffic from within as well as beyond the Lexington area.

The Director of Information Technology uses Adobe Dreamweaver to author the website.  The Director of Information Technology needs to at least have the ability to maintain a functioning, static HTML-based site, with the occasional need for dynamic online forms and voting.  Thus a thorough knowledge of HTML, PHP, and possibly JavaScript is required.  However, it is preferred that the Director of Information Technology strive to learn about Flash animation, online polls and blogs, databases, basic graphic design tools, and other web design skills.
