The President, Vice-President of Internal Affairs, and Vice-President of Promotions are responsible for daily oversight of a large, dynamic event programming organization and its budget. The main focus of the executives is to direct and facilitate the Board of Directors toward creating a full calendar of quality event programming with a responsible use of student fees. The President is to develop and apply a working knowledge of best practices in organizational management and budgeting, and they are to provide consistent and professional guidance for the organization’s membership. He/She is to act as the liaison between the organization and campus administration.
The Vice-President of Internal Affairs is responsible for the daily oversight of the inner workings of the overall organization. He/She is responsible for tracking and maintaining the organizational budget. Oversees the formation and implementation of the committee system which includes committee chairs and members. The Vice-President of Internal Affairs is to develop and apply a working knowledge of best practices in organizational management and budgeting, and they are to provide consistent and professional guidance for the organization’s membership. Assumes the duties of the President in his/her absence.
The Vice President of Promotions (VPP) is responsible for leading all efforts to promote the Student Activities Board and its events to the UK campus and community. The position serves as the leader of the Promotions Team, coordinating the efforts of the skill-based positions for Graphic Design, Information Technology, Market Research, and Public Relations to produce all of the promotional mediums for SAB. In addition to leading the Promotions Team, the Vice President of Promotions works as an executive member on the overall development and implementation of organizational goals. Working closely with the President and Vice President of Internal Affairs to lead the organization, the Vice President of Promotions focuses on the overall promotional marketing of SAB, while contributing to any other discussions and initiatives among the Executive Leadership. The Promotions Team consists of five skill-based positions which produce all of the promotional graphics, build and maintain an interactive website, and maintain communication with the UK community’s various publics through public relations channels. The Vice President of Promotions is responsible for coordinating and managing the tasks of this team, serving as a liaison between the programming director and the team, as well as directing the quality and strategy of each individual promotional plan. As such, the Vice President of Promotions is expected to develop and apply knowledge of organizational management, and she/he is to provide consistent guidance for the organization’s membership.
